Stunning. Proof Research audacious premium Elevation bolt-action rifle is relatively affordable but looks like and is richly featured like some of its much more expensive competition. Available calibers include 6mm Creedmore (1:7.5” twist ratio), 6.5mm Creedmore (1:8”), .308 Win (1:10”), 7mm Rem (1:8.4”) and .300 WM (1:10”).
The gun comes standard with a composite stock with beautifully unique camouflage swathed across its lightweight composite stock, a carbon fiber barrel, a TriggerTech trigger, a premium Origin action sourced from Zermatt Arms, and more. The result is a SUB MOA accuracy guarantee!
The camouflage has an almost scalar pattern that does a great job breaking up the gun’s lines and making it blend into corresponding backgrounds. There are two patterns: black granite and tactical flat dark earth.
The American-made Zermatt Arms Origin bolt-action is itself a great piece of work. It is spiral-fluted, DLC finished and has a swept bolt handle ending in a modified ball knob, all of which provides more clearance from scopes. It includes a single piece pinned Picatinny rail. It also has a bayonet-style fire control.
The Sendero Light profile match-grade barrel is made in house by Proof using a carbon-fiber wrapping around 416R steel process adds tremendous strength and excellent thermal heat dissipation characteristics while retaining lightweight characteristics.
The .308 Win has a 20” barrel, while the four other calibers are 24” in length. The barrel is fronted by a 5/8”x24 TPI thread and comes standard with a nice-looking thread protector.
The single-stage TriggerTech trigger is curved, has a zero-creep break, and sits in a 7075 aluminum alloy housing.
Length of pull is 13 5/8”. In back is a nice, thick, black Pachmayr recoil pad to help mitigate felt recoil. The stock also has a trio of swivel studs. Two are on the forend and one is in back. This configuration permits concurrent usage of a strap and bipod. These guns weigh, depending on barrel, etc., between 5 pounds 14 ounces to 6 pounds 8 ounces.
