The ever popular Remington 700P (700 Police) bolt action rifle sells well because it’s reliable, accurate, and, with its long production run that goes back decades, it has a long legion of accessories and aftermarket parts one can use to further tweak the guns.

Current 700P production is four models. The first is the 223 Remington caliber with a 26” cold hammer forged carbon steel barrel framed by an H-S Precision chassis and featuring a 40XP adjustable trigger. It has a 4-round internal magazine and weighs 7.5 pounds. The barrel is a beautiful piece of work with a 1:9” twist ratio and 6R rifling. Length is 47”.

The next three models are 308 Winchester, 300 Winchester Magnum and 308 Winchester with the scope package. The trio share almost all the same characteristics. They use a 24” cold hammer forged barrel with a 1:10” twist ratio and 5R rifling. The frame is also the H-S Precision chassis, weight is 8 pounds and they have the same 40XP adjustable trigger as the 223 Remington. These share the 47” length of the first model.

The top end 308 Winchester with the scope package includes a long range tactical Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 4.5x14x50mm M1 TMR scope. The matte black scope is fogproof, waterproof and shockproof and has a trio of turrets to make fine 1/4 MOA adjustments for windage and elevation. In spite of the exotic name, the Leupold is actually Made in USA.
