The direct impingement Remington R10 7.62mm semi-automatic carbine is anchored by a 1:10” twist ratio 5R rifled 16” hammer forged carbon steel barrel. The R10 looks like a 5.56 mm AR, but it uses more powerful 7.62 mm ammo. It’s so good that both the FBI and US DEA use the R10 as standard duty carry!

The R10’s superb precision barrel is shrouded by a free-floating modular Remington Arms Handguard (RAHG). The gun has fully ambidextrous controls and is highly effective to 800 meters or almost 900 feet. From muzzle to buttpad, this 7.62 is 35.1” in overall length and weighs 8.8 pounds. It has a collapsible stock in back and ships standard with a translucent Lancer L7 20-round magazine.

Both upper and lower receiver are hard coat anodized. The modular matte black RAHG is made of lightweight aviation grade 6061 aluminum. It has a recessed front cutout on top that permits using suppressors and the increased blowback they generate. But otherwise, it is a typical raised roof octagonal cross section affair with M-LOK slots all around except on top. The crest is owned by a long Picatinny rail that runs continuously to connect with the rail atop the receiver. This continuous real estate is populated by a scope and MAGPUL MBUS front and rear flip sights you can always rely on as a backup option.

Lefties will delight knowing R10’s magazine release, bolt stop, and safety/selector are all ambidextrous. Additionally, Remington designed the bolt stop and magazine release to be integral to the receiver. In between the magwell and the grip is a convex angled trigger guard that permits gloved operations. Moreover, the lower receiver has a flared magwell to expedite swapping box magazines.

The gun combines in-house components with MAGPUL goodies. As such, it benefits from a wide-latitude MAGPUL MOE SL polymer collapsible stock that gives the gun a commanding 12.5” to 16.5” length of pull, and it’s backed by a good angled rubber pad with horizontal grip bands and has a rollover toe at the bottom. This Made in USA Mil-Spec stock has release levers on either side that are sheltered under the stock’s eaves thus keeping them snag-free.

The gun has integrated flush cup QDs built in on the handguard and the buttstock. Finally, the rugged gun uses the same beavertail grip as the M4.
