Rock River Arms History

Rock River Arms was founded in 1996 by brothers Mark and Chuck Larson. Before establishing their own firearms company, the Larson brothers worked at Springfield Armory. They also spent some time building custom 1911 pistols in partnership with Les Baer and building AR-15 rifles for Eagle Arms in Illinois. In 1996, the Larson brothers created Rock River Arms to produce their own custom 1911 pistols. In 1997, Rock River Arms began to design and build AR-15 rifles. The Larson brothers started to focus on tightening up tolerances and improving the fit, finish, and reliability of their Rock River Arm rifles. Thus, the Rock River Arms NM A2 Rifle quickly gained popularity among high-power shooters.

Rock River Arms Today

Rock River Arms currently operates out of a facility in Colona, Illinois. Rock River Arms continues to produce a large selection of semi-automatic rifles, parts, and accessories. The Larson brothers have maintained their focus on providing high-quality, reasonably-priced rifles with excellent fits, finishes, and functions. In 2003, Rock River Arms was awarded a five-year contract with the Drug Enforcement Administration for a minimum of 5,000 LAR-15 rifles. Since then, Rock River Arms has received additional contracts with the FBI and the United States Marshals.
