The Rock River Arms Predator HP LAR-8M spans .243 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmore calibers in 20” and 24” barrel lengths. It’s a fully modern AR-15 with modularity, ergonomics, aesthetics and performance. RRA is no mere integrator, but a proper manufacturer based in Colona, Illinois. Thus, many key components are made inhouse, and the result is impressively cohesive.

The .243 Win has two variants. First, let’s cover the one with the CAR adjustable stock and the muzzle brake. For starters, the upper receiver is a forged A4 crested by a long Picatinny rail while the bottom is a forged RRA LAR-8M - Multi Caliber Marked lower receiver. In front is a 17” long lattice RRA LAR-8 Lightweight Free Float Rail handguard crested by a long Picatinny rail and flanked by plenty of M-LOK type slots, giving you plenty of room to mount accessories and plenty of flexibility in where you mount them.

The handguard enshrouds the low-profile gas block and a genuine piece of brilliance, and that’s the 20” fluted stainless steel barrel. It is bead blasted and cryogenically treated. The bore bears a 1:10” twist ratio. It’s fronted by a four-chamber crowned RRA operator brake fastened by a 5/8”-24 TPI thread.

Moving down, you have an RRA winter trigger guard that’s oversized for winter gloves. And within is an RRA two-stage trigger. Below you have a Hogue rubber grip with nice texturing and three demi-lune finger grooves. In back is an RRA Operator CAR stock. It’s lever-actuated and collapsible with six positions. It includes an integral non-slip textured buttpad, two watertight battery storage tubes and a receiver extension.

The gun weighs 9.5 pounds and has a 42” overall length. Accuracy at 100 years is 1 MOA. It uses RRA LAR-8 3-round, 5-round and 20-round magazines.

The second .243 Winchester is the same but uses a fixed A2 stock and lacks the muzzle brake. Length is 42.25” and weight is 9.2 pounds.

The 6.5 Creedmore has both options (with the fixed A2 stock and no muzzle brake or with the CAR stock and muzzle brake) in both 20” and 24” length barrels. So that makes four variants. These weigh 9.2, 9.5, 9.7 and 10.0 pounds respectively.
