The very affordable Ruger LC9s semi-automatic is a 7+1 capacity 9 mm Luger concealed carry gun with pleasingly smooth contours and low profile sights dovetailed into the slide.

First, let’s cover some characteristics. For starters, the LC9s is a streamlined, striker-fired, compact pistol built around a 3.12” long alloy steel six groove barrel with a 1 to 10” RH twist. Its single-piece Cerakoted glass-filled nylon frame comes in two vibrantly eye-catching colors: turquoise or yellow. Both have a hardened alloy steel slide, blued barrel and black for just about everything else.

Key measures? Width is 0.9”, height is 4.5” and overall length is 6.0”. These compact dimensions and alloy frame combine to a feathery 17.2 ounce weight!

The gun’s designers put extensive thought into making the LC9s virtually snag free. It has many curves that combine effortlessly and avoid harsh bevels. The result is both practical and pleasing.

The LC9s’ standard sights are white dot. The front sight is fixed while the rear one is drift adjustable. The LC9s is also compatible with the steel accessory HIVIZ front and rear sights that match heights with Ruger’s factory originals. HIVIZ sights are bright and impressively configurable. The front sight has interchangeable red, white and green Litepipes while the rear sight has a pair of green, red and black Litepipes. These give the user nice latitude on color preferences.

The LC9s’ ejection port is cut low and flared. The slide has diagonal serrations at back. Grip detailing is nicely done with diamond hatching on the front, sides and back. The word “RUGER” is embossed into the upper grip and, of course, there is the circular Ruger logo on each side.

The takedown pin, slide stop, manual thumb safety and magazine release are all on the left. Nice details abound. For instance, pull down on the thumb safety at back to reveal a red dot. And there is a magazine disconnect, a trigger safety, and a loaded chamber view port.

The gun comes standard with one 7-round black single-stack magazine replete with counting holes and a black finger grip extension for improved control and comfort. The Ruger LC9s semi-automatic is made in Prescott, Arizona and thus Made in USA.
