The new 10 round magazine .22 LR Ruger Custom Shop 10/22 Competition Rifle takes Ruger’s proven 10/22 and upgrades it with better components, nicer textures and other refinements.

Key dimensions? The 6 groove barrel is 16.12” long with a 1:16” RH twist. The length of pull is 13.50”, and overall length is 36”. The gun weighs 6 pounds.

This gun is slick. A long dorsal Picatinny rail is partially cantilevered in front and wraps around the bolt assembly further back. The gun lacks sights, but the Picatinny rail makes it optics ready.

The hard-coat anodized black CNC aluminum receiver and slick CNC milled aluminum bolt are both optimized for light weight. The solid steel alloy barrel is cold hammer forged and ends (or, rather, starts) with an integrated radial ported muzzle brake. The brake is removable, which makes the gun also compatible with Ruger’s own Silent-SR .22 LR Suppressor.

The barrel is fluted, which makes it lighter than comparable barrels. But it also adds elegance and upscale looks with its gray and black speckled laminate stock. The flutes continue the length of the barrel. A nice nod to aesthetics is how the flutings are black though the barrel itself is satin.

The gray and black speckled stock is textured and nicely shaped. It also has two long flutings, one per side, running the length of the forend. These details optimize grip comfort and handling.

The black comb cheek rest is adjustable both for height and front to back. The Ruger 10/22 Competition Rifle features swivel studs in front and back. A quick magazine release lets you easily swap out one 10 round rotary magazine for another.
