The 9 mm Luger SCCY CPX-1 is a 10+1 compact conceal carry 3.1” stainless steel barrel semi-automatic pistol. This double-action gun comes in matte black and many other colors.

Overall dimensions are apropos to the short barrel. The height is 5.06” and overall length is just 6.01”. Width is 1.40”, which is a tad wide, but that’s for good reason and due to the ambidextrous thumb safety at back. Thanks in large part to the polymer frame that couples with these conceal carry dimensions, unloaded weight is a feathery 15 ounces, and thus under a pound.

The front sight is non-adjustable and permanently fixed into place into the stainless-steel slide. The rear sight is dovetailed in and adjustable side to side for windage but not elevation. Adjustments are easily done via an Allen wrench. They are simple white three-dot sights. The front one is ramped.

Though CPX-1 is a very affordable gun, it’s well thought out. The design has been lavished with thoughtful touches. The grip is nicely textured on both sides. The frontstrap has three finger recesses thanks to a magazine base extension that finishes the third recess. The trigger guard is wide and it enshrouds a vertically serrated trigger. In back is a deep undercut for ergonomic and handling bliss that provides proper grip control.

There is some simple but nice styling going on as the front sight and the frame seem to taper to an invisible aiming point ahead of the muzzle. The back of the slide has a nice quintet of deeply chiseled medium width grip serrations.

The gun can be had in a wide variety of colors thanks to various SCCY CPX grip modules. Though called “grip modules”, in fact, they cover the entire frame including even the trigger guard. There are almost 20 colors available. They include black, white, purple, orange, pink, crimson, FDE, Lime Green, Sniper Gray, Muddy Girl and several multicolor schemes such as Kryptek Pontus or Moonshine Toxic.

The gun comes with a pair of 10-round magazines. Push the magazine release, and the magazine will drop free! A nice safety feature is the gun’s standard child-resistant trigger guard lock. SCCY makes its guns in Daytona Beach, Florida, thus these guns are Made in USA.
