The SAR USA B6 is an affordable, 17+1 capacity 9x19mm hammer-fired polymer frame semi-automatic. This double-action/single-action (DA/SA) pistol features a 4.5” barrel, low profile sights and a crowned barrel for enhanced accuracy.
The gun’s width is 1.5”, height is 5.5” and overall length is 8.1”. Thanks to its polymer frame, the gun only weighs 28.2 ounces.
In comparison, the B6’s sister SAR USA Model 2000 is roughly the same gun in stainless steel guise. It has the same 4.5” barrel and almost the exact dimensions and capacity. But in contrast, the Model 2000 weighs 35.2 ounces.
Back to the B6: the slide is cut back slightly in front. The rear has diagonal grip serrations. The sights are fixed dovetailed 3-white dot types. In back, the gun has a thumb safety. It and the slide release and magazine release are both on the left.
The clean breaking scimitar curve trigger sits in a classic oval trigger guard that ends with an undercut by the frame. At the other end is a medium beavertail to give better control. The grip is texturized and meaty in a way that will fill large hands. There are nice little touches too, such as the vertical serrations along the back.
The gun comes with a pair of flush mounting 17-round double-stack steel magazines. While the SAR USA B6 is a fairly no frills gun, it’s also a good value.
