The conceal carry Smith & Wesson 60 5-shot .357 Magnum / .38 S&W Special +P revolver combines classic retro looks with modern manufacturing, a stainless-steel frame, barrel and fluted cylinder with matte black grips. There are three models, all built on Smith & Wesson’s small J-Frame architecture. All are single action/double action (SA/DA) with a spur external hammer. Two have a 2.13” barrel and one has a 3.0” barrel.

The two shorter barrel revolvers are the same except one is a Model 60 and the other a Model 60 LS. The LS stands for Lady Smith, which is part of Smith & Wesson’s lineup geared to women. They are nearly identical, except the standard model has a satin stainless finish coupled with black polymer grips while the 60 LS was wooden ones with a matte silver finish across the metal. Both measure 6.6” in overall length. The polymer grips save a smidge of weight since they weigh 21.5 ounces versus the wooden LS’s 22.0-ounce weight.

The longer 3.0” barreled Model 60 is the same as the standard Model 60 except it has an adjustable rear sight, it is 7.5” long overall and weighs 23.6 ounces.

The non-Lady Smith Model 60s come standard with diamond checkered black polymer grip. The grip has three very nice frontstrap finger recesses. The Model 60 LS’s wooden grips are for smaller hands. The finger contours are different, the palmswell is a bit less, and the wood tapers at the bottom.

Regardless of which 60 you get, this snag-free highly portable self-defense design is wonderfully cohesive and compact for conceal carry.
