The Springfield Armory M1A Super Match Rifles quartet are all variants of the same .308 Win (7.62x51mm NATO) 10+1. These appealing semi-autos are civilian legal modern versions of the US Army’s iconic M14 originals that were once standard issue from 1959 to 1970. Springfield takes its standard M1A design and upgrades it. The upgraded Super Match features competition shooting features a heavy carbon barrel, an advanced glass-bedded walnut stock, match grade sights and more.

At the core of each M1A Super Match gun is a fully adjustable for windage and elevation rear sight, a two-stage National Match trigger with a 4.5-pound trigger pull weight, a 10-round detachable box magazine and more! The M1A has a 22” long Douglas Heavy Match 6-grove carbon steel barrel with a 1:10” twist ratio.

Fronting the barrel is a long flash suppressor. Atop the rifle, you’ll find a National Match .062” blade front sight paired to a Match Grade non-hooded .0520 aperture rear sight that’s 1/2 MOA adjustable for windage and MOA adjustable for elevation.

The two main models differ only in their barrels. The “black” model has a black Douglas Heavy Match barrel while the “stainless” model has a Douglas stainless-steel barrel instead. These barrels are the heaviest match-legal barrel that can fit an M1A.

The Super Match rifles also deliver front and back sling swivels, rugged durability and a wonderful attention to detail that befits this premium rifle.

Additionally, for both the stainless and black models, there are corresponding California-compliant variant sporting a radial ported muzzle brake instead of the standard model’s long flash suppressor.

In all four cases, weight is 11 pounds 2 ounces and overall length is 44.33”.
