Because of the large amount of data in item listings, we are not able to keep item listings past 90 days. They are purged from the system and moved to archives. Without the item in our system, we cannot validate the item number and users are unable to enter feedback. Feedback can be entered or changed while the item number is valid. Once the item has been archived, feedback cannot be modified or added because we can't attach feedback to the item - the item no longer exists. We cannot keep the item information around infinitely, and 90 days is the cut-off time period that we use - other auction sites like eBay have the same limits. We have notices about the 90 day limit in many places on our web site, to remind everyone that they must enter it before 90 days.
