You can add HTML to your listings to make them appear cleaner and clearer on the page. HTML can really improve the way your description looks.
At GunBroker.com we encourage you to use HTML to
make your listings appear more polished to the buyer.
HTML (HyperText
Markup Language) is the simple language used to create Web pages. You can use
these HTML tags to enhance your
listings!!
Here's how:
Spacing
and Lines:
- Surround your paragraphs with the <p> </p>
tags for a paragraph.
- The <br> tag
starts a new line without skipping any space.
- To draw a line across the screen, use <hr> (for
"horizontal rule").

We do not allow videos to be embedded within auctions. Instead simply add a link to your video and allow it to open in another window.
To get exactly the effect you
want—just combine tags. For example, if you want buyers to see:
Buy
Now!
Your HTML should say:
<center><b><i>Buy Now!</i></b></center>
For more information on HTML syntax
and how to properly create code specific HTML tags see w3schools.com HTML Tutorial.
Specifically restricted HTML tags:
The
following HTML tags are just some examples of tags that are stripped from the
listing by GunBroker.com due to the potential harm to the viewer or possible
malformation of the website:
<h1>
<html>
<head>
<title>
<form>
In
addition to these tags, we do not allow Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to be
used.
CSS pages
have the potential to be used maliciously for Cross Site Scripting (XSS)
XSS is bad for the
following reasons:
1) XSS can create div tag overlays that can affect the usage
of our site.
2) XSS can divert our buyers off of GunBroker
to another potentially malicious site.
3) XSS can download potentially dangerous software.
4) XSS can enable people to steal peoples UserNames and Passwords
