The Tristar Arms TT-15 is not one but several shotguns spanning 12-gauge, 20-gauge, 28-gauge and .410-gauge. These are the 30” barrel TT-15 Sporting over/unders (12-gauge only), 28” barrel TT-15 Field over/unders (all four gauges), and the TT-15 Trap (12-gauge only; many configurations). The TT-15s pack an unbelievably splendid visual punch that’s well above their price class. And they have thoughtful touches such as matching serial-numbers on major components indicating true devotion to craftsmanship.

Let’s take a look at the various models.

The TL-15 Sporting is 12-gauge only. It has a 30” blued ported chrome-lined barrels backed by a chrome-lined chamber. This gun also has ejectors that will fling any empty shell casings out of the way when you crack open the gun.

The gun is very nicely equipped. It has a mid-rib, wide target top-rib, a thick black recoil absorbing butt pad, and the CT-5X choke set. This includes the Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, Full chokes. All are Beretta/Benelli Mobil Style extended chokes that are color coded with a color band that goes all the way around their circumference.

The TL-15 Sporting has a red fiber optic front sight followed by a brass mid-bead. There is a sliding top tang safety that blocks the trigger, hammer and hammer lever. When the safety is in fire mode, you can set the top lever to the left to fire the top barrel first or to the right to fire the bottom one. It has a crisp single selective trigger so you can fire either barrel in any order. The furniture is beautiful Turkish walnut that is textured on the forend and pistol grip. There is a little beautiful scrollwork on the receiver. This model weighs 7.9 pounds.

Next are the TT-15 Field over/unders (all four gauges). They are similar to the aforementioned model. However, these have 28” barrels, lack the mid-bead sight but have more ornate scrollwork on the stainless receiver. The .410 weighs 5.5 pounds while the 12-gauge weighs 7.0 pounds and the two others are in between.

Now let’s examine the six TT-15 Trap models. They are the single-barreled Mono Trap, Top Single and Unsingle and the double-barreled DT Adjustable (DTA), CTA Combo model and the CTA Deluxe. The Mono Trap has a single top barrel that’s 34” long, a standard vent rib, and weighs 8 pounds.

Each TT-15 Trap shares characteristics such as a red front fiber optic sight and, at the other end, the TT-15 Adjustable Recoil Pad system. This gives a length-of-pull from 13.0” to 14.5” providing a wide-latitude for many different sizes of users, from youth to full adult. There are also well-marked spacers so you have various options in between. Moreover, each has an adjustable comb. Except the Mono Trap, which we’ll come back to, the other five models have an elevated vented rib adjustable for height at any of its three connection points in front, back and in the middle!

The TT-15 Trap Top Single has a single top barrel that’s 34” long, and this model weighs 8.7 pounds.

The TT-15 Unsingle has only a bottom barrel. The three-point vented rib has longer bridge pylons. It weighs 8.2 pounds.

The TT-15 Trap DT Adjustable over/under obviously has both barrels. They’re 32” long, and this gun weighs 8.9 pounds.

The TT-15 Trap CTA has two barrel sets, meaning the barrel(s) from each of the last two models covered above.

The TT-15 Trap CTA Deluxe has a Drop Out inertia trigger that will fire the bottom barrel first.

In features, looks, quality and performance, these shotguns are breathtaking. And they are far more affordable than many others. You’ll see that on the resplendent wood and beautiful barrels. You’ll see it inside too, such as when you break open the gun and see the jeweling on the action.

The Mono Trap, Top Single and Unsingle models have CT-3X chokes that include Beretta/Benelli-style CT-3X Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full. The other three come with the CT-5X choke set.
