TALLADEGA, AL (October 8, 2012) – Jason White and his team had Talladega Superspeedway circled on their calendar early in the season with their sights set on visiting Victory Lane for the first time.  But in typical restrictor plate racing style, a very strong truck and shot at the Winners Circle was dashed in the “Big One” on the final lap.  As a result, White and his No. 23 Ford were relegated to a devastating 20th-place finish in the running of the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola.

White started the 250-mile event from the 2nd position, his third career front row start, as a result of his qualifying effort on Friday at the largest track the series races on all year.  The No. 23 Ford would show its strength multiple times leading a total of 11 laps, as well as going from the back of the pack to leading the race.   While leading the field with just three laps to go, the action heated up and White sat in the third position as the rumbling field took the white flag for the final lap.  As he made his move with help from a drafting partner, White and his No. 23 Ford fell victim to a massive wreck on the backstretch and thus dashing hopes of that visit to Victory Lane.

“That was as devastating a finish to a race as I have ever had,” stated White.  “Our Ford was awesome all day and I think that showed with our qualifying run as well as going from the back of the pack to the lead in two short laps.  We were leading there with just a few laps to go and Kurt (Busch) and I were going to work together and fight it out on the last lap, but we got shuffled back there a few spots and then got caught up in just a typical last lap incident at Talladega. ”

The 20th-place finish dropped White to 11th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – a mere 11 points out of the tenth position.

“I really want to thank all of the guys on my team for their hard work all year and especially on this truck,” added Jason.   “This was the same truck we had in Daytona and it was just super strong there and this week as well.  I think we had the best truck out there today and sometimes the best truck doesn’t always win and that was the case today.  As much as this one hurts, we just need to keep our heads held high and prepare for Martinsville in a few weeks.”

Jason and his team return to action on Saturday October 27th as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Martinsville Speedway for the running of the Kroger 200.
