The Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Package G45 is an upgrade package for the Gen-5 Glock G45 semi-automatic 17+1 round 9 mm pistol.

Bill Wilson founded Wilson Combat in 1974 in Berryville, AR and has remained there in business ever since. Four decades of customization have given the firm unprecedented skill in taking weapons from various manufacturers and upgrading them with improved components. Some of these components, such as Tritium gun sights, are incorporated frequently, giving Wilson Combat a wealth of experience, quasi-mass production quality and perhaps even some cost reduction.

Broadly speaking, Wilson Combat likes to take popular and reliable guns, engage a well-known expert for advice to select leading parts from other providers to make an enhanced limited edition package.

Thus inspired by very successful similar prior projects, the Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Package G45 takes a brand new stock fifth generation (Gen-5) Glock G45 semi-automatic 17+1 round 9 mm pistol and upgrades it with a variety of components manufactured by TangoDown of Tuscon, Arizona and selected by noted marksman Larry Vickers.

Compared to the stock Glock G45, the Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Package G45 comes standard with a black Armor-Tuff protected slide, but other finish colors are also available. Armor-Tuff enhances the slide’s durability, wear protection and anti-corrosion properties while giving it a matte finish.

The Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Package then changes the stock sights with a green fiber optic sight in front and, at rear, the simple black Wilson Combat Square Notch Battlesight. In between are five long, wide, perfectly straight groove serrations that are interrupted only by the ejection port. Strictly speaking, they’re for anti-glare, but additionally, they add something special to the stock G19’s all-business looks.

The frame differs from the stock frame. It has raised diamond stippling that rise higher than normal and that feature a prominent mid-grip Vickers Tactical logo. Thumb pads above the trigger have the same pattern, but feature the Wilson Combat logo.

Other TangoDown/Vickers Tactical parts include the slide stop, flat-faced trigger, trigger pad, magazine release, the base pads on all three magazines and the grip plug.

The G45’s magazines have witness holes permitting easy count of how many rounds are still inside when the magazine has been removed. Thoughtfully, the round count is marked by each hole.

The sum of these various changes is greater than the parts, resulting in a very satisfying packages.
