This information was received from a watcher: Some information you might want to know regarding the Eastern Arms revolver you have for auction. Originally these were produced and sold by the Andrew Fyrberg Co. (1890 - 1903) as a hardware store version of their main line revolvers. They are identical. In 1903 the company was sold to Richard Sears (yes, that SEARS) and the inventory and machinery was moved to Meriden, CT. Production resumed in mid 1904 and the Eastern Arms line continued. Meriden adopted the original Fyrberg designs and continued the "Hardware Store" versions such as Eastern Arms, National Arms, Empire State Arms, Howard Arms, etc. and began an enhanced engraved version when production began in mid 1904. Meriden used the existing parts inventory of Fyrberg to assemble the first few lines of the now Meriden brand and the earliest such assemblies used the A F c o (Andrew Fyrberg Co) emblazoned grips that you have on this revolver. The grips soon after became M f a C o emblazoned in the top circle. This revolver dates from between mid (July) 1904 to very early (Feb.) 1905.

FOR BID, one Eastern Arms top-break revolver in .38 Smith &Wesson caliber. Includes leather flap holster. C&R okay.

OVERALL CONDITION: Gun looks good on the outside and seems to be in serviceable shooting condition. Nicer than most of these you see. Best percentage estimate: 75%.

METAL CONDITION: Fully engraved blued and case-color finish is in pretty good shape throughout with scattered wear and corrosion. No warts or drop damage.

STOCKS CONDITION: Stocks are in very good to excellent condition. Very little wear and a tight perfect fit. A little chipping out on the backside screw hole.

BORE/ACTION CONDITION: Barrel bore looks fairly shiny with some shallow pitting seen. A decent bore. Cylinder bores all look okay. Timing and lockup are a little uncertain as most of these are. Ejectors work properly.

HOLSTER is in good shape. Nothing fancy, but it is leather. Fits the gun fairly well.
