A used Mossberg 500 12 gauge that has been completely disassembled, cleaned, and worked over.

  • The original plastic safety button has been replaced with a durable Brownell's steel button.
  • The magazine spring has been replaced with a new spring from Brownell's.
  • The walnut stock and forend have been very nicely refinished.
The barrel is 30" with a full choke and vent rib. Fires 2 3/4" and 3" shells. The bluing on the barrel is excellent, with no rust or scratches or problems. No rust or dirt under the rib. The bore is mirror-bright. No pitting and no problems. It has a single brass bead at the muzzle.

The action cycles smoothly and the trigger is very good, especially for a shotgun. The entire mechanism, including the trigger assembly, was disassembled and cleaned.

The stock and forend are walnut, not "hardwood" or plastic, making this a fairly attractive 500. There's just a couple small marks on either piece. They were very nicely refinished, with several coats of polyurethane topped with two smooth coats of semi-gloss spray finish. Several hours went into refinishing the wood. My loss is your gain, I guess. Sometimes it happens that way.

The red rubber recoil pad is in good condition. It's clean and pliable, not hardened. The length of pull is 14 inches.

The aluminum receiver shows wear to the finish, mostly along the edges, with some scattered light marks elsewhere. But no deep scratches and nothing ugly.

I'm selling the rifle on consignment and have not shot it myself. But overall a good looking Mossberg with a nice trigger and good action. You're not buying a weekend cleaning project. It's attractive enough to give to a new shooter, and not too expensive.

The buyer pays only the actual shipping and insurance cost, no "handling" fees. Should be under $20 depending on your ZIP code.

I must collect sales tax or a resale certificate from California buyers.

A personal check is OK if you don't mind waiting ten banking days before shipment. If you're in a hurry, use a money order or bank check.

E-mail if you have any questions about the rifle. Note that I can't access my e-mail every day, so don't despair if I don't answer right away.
