S88A, (MAKE AN OFFER) A cased commemorative limited edition reproduction, 1000 sets made in 1980 by Williamsburg Firearms Mfg. on order from the US Historical Society of Richmond VA to commemorate the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. Accompanying documents and sales receipt set #622 sold to Gerald Tone of New York City 11/9/1979 and he paid $1,900.00 for them at that time. Walnut case with compartments for white handling gloves, spare bullets, screw driver, barrel wrench, bullet mold and lid lock key, each pistol in red velvet bag, all faithful copies of the original and only known Jefferson pistols reposing in the museum at the Jefferson mansion in Monticello. Remarkable workmanship, sterling silver mask butt inlays, engravings on brass and steel, finest walnut burl grips, each was test fired (certificate retained with set) and one retains the flint in hammer jaws, fully crisp and functional, like new condition and fine throughout, sorry about the photos...these are nice! This commemorative values in today's dollars at about $4,800.00 (our reserve is much much lower). All original and complete, a fine and very rare collectors set. Ship weight is 8 pounds.
