In the description I stated that the rifle has a detachable magazine. This is an error, the magazine is a fixed magazine. I apologize for the oversight. Thanks!! krf

This auction is for the Remington Model 8 rifle shown. Caliber is .30 Remington. The Model 8 is a unique semi-automatic rifle with a 22" jacketed barrel a detachable magazine. This rifle pre-dates the barrel date code system. The S/N is 20017 which indicates that it was made in 1910. This rifle also has the scarce .30-30 Remington caliber marking which was later changed to .30 Remington. This was to avoid confusion with the .30-30 Winchester. The change from .30-30 Rem to .30 Rem took place around 1910. The Model 8 was made from 1906 to 1936. The overall condition of this rifle is good very good. The metal finish shows some edge wear along with some light scratching and thinning. It looks like it may have some cold blue touch-ups here and there. There are no dents in the barrel jacket. The plain walnut forearm and matching butt stock are very nice with minor marks from use. The original metal butt plate is very good. The bore is near excellent, clean and shiny with strong rifling. The action seems to function fine. A Williams tang mounted rear sight has been added. as shown. Overall, a very nice early Remington Model 8 rifle in very nice condition. C&R OK. NO RESERVE!! Thanks for looking.
