This is a very nice Smith and Wesson First Model Revolver .44 Russian caliber. Has a 5" barrel with a very good bore. It is Nickel Plated and was sent back to Factory on "10*32". It has a Star,"*", in front of the serial number on the butt, showing that the work was done by SMITH & WESSON!. This revolver is in "Fine" condition. Action is tight and works perfectly! Has a 1-7/16" cylinder length for the .44 Russian caliber. The serial number is #396 manufacured in early 1880's. Serial number found on the butt, back of cylinder and the latch. Has 2 line barrel address on top barrel flat wth company name and address, with patent dates of 1865,1869,1871,1879, and 1880. Grips are very nice and have the SMITH & WESSON monagram.
