Very good condition WWII Norwegian Krag Jorgensen Model 1894 type carbine in 6.5 x 55 caliber. This rare variation was assembled under the Nazi occupation and is in Stomperud “short rifle” configuration with a 24” barrel. These short rifles were cut down from Model 1894 infantry rifles and also assembled using spare parts. The original date and serial number on the receiver were removed and replaced with a German applied serial number and a 1944 date. Also, the receiver is marked “NC” with a Waffenamt. These guns are known as Model 1894 short rifles as well as Model 1943 Nazi Occupation Carbines, depending on what reference you read. Rifle is NOT import marked and has nonmatching numbers. Stock was shortened from a Model 1894 infantry rifle, as was done during the conversion, but may be later replaced. Front sight is correctly slotted for a hood. Gun is in correct configuration and the barrel length and receiver markings are original Nazi done. Metal finish is original blue showing a little normal wear Bore is very good with strong rifling and a little gray. Wood has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side buttstock has a few spots of paint. Complete with correct type new made cleaning rod. A rare Nazi occupation Norwegian Krag Carbine that will make a fine advanced addition to a collection.
