With all of the hits and watchers over the last re-list, I thought I should add a bit of the recent history of this double rifle. I bought it a couple of years ago from the Old Barn auction in Ohio where it came out of an old-time collection. I paid just shy of $2400 with the juice; I thought that was fair for a signed gun with this artwork, full-octagon barrels, double sights, etc. Last summer I took this rifle to the KRA meeting so it could be photographed and measured for a new book coming out on multi-barrel Kentucky rifles. I had the striped ramrod made for it and now I've decided to sell it. Thanks for looking!

Signed "J. HARDER, LOCKHAVEN PA." across both top barrel flats. Double sights, side by side, full octagon barrels. Silver mounted including cap box, eagle inlay, saddle plate (fancy, pierced), toe plate, trigger guard, butt plate, entry thimble. Long, engraved tang, engraved locks and hammers. Barrels are almost 32" long and .41 caliber (one rifled, one smooth). Very good condition, replaced ramrod nicely striped. Shipping and insurance to the lower 48 is included in the sale price. You can ship me your hard case first and I will use it to ship the gun or I can send it in a plastic hard case that you can keep. My descriptions are accurate and I include many detailed photos. Feel free to ask for additional info/photos. I can send you photos with better resolution by email so you can really see the features. Finally, please see my positive feedback here and on ebay under the same username where I sell other antiques, including cars. Checks must clear before I ship. Please keep in mind that since this is an antique muzzleloader, you do NOT need an FFL for me to ship it to you. PLEASE NOTE: I do not recommend firing the antique guns that I sell. If you decide to do so, you do it at your own risk! This includes working the actions (locks, hammers, triggers, etc.) Old guns (pre-1899) have old parts, including old springs and other internals (we are talking about 150+ years old, on average!). These parts can and do break. You are not buying a new gun; this is an antique/collectible and it is catagorized as such on gunbroker for that reason. Thanks. John
