This is a very nice 1873 round barrel rifle. It was made in 1888. Bore in the 24" barrel is shiny and has very good lands and grooves. There is a ring about six inches from the muzzle. I did take it out for a little shooting. It does not affect the accuracy. As you will notice in the pictures, a lot of original blue remains on the receiver. A lot of original blue also remains on the tube and barrel. It has started to fade somewhat on the magazine tube and barrel. The receiver is still bright. Action is flawless. It works exactly as it should. Markings are clear and correct. Wood to metal fit is perfect. The wood shows normal handling. Caliber is 38-40. This is a nice antique 1873 Winchester rifle.
