This antique Winchester 1892, SN 87112 dates this gun to 1897.
Caliber is 25-35.
The barrel length is ~23", and with the holes on the bottom of the octagon bbl, indicate that this started life as a full length rifle, and was cut down to pseudo-carbine length, with the carbine magazine fitted.
Bore condition is not good. Cleaning the barrel of this gun produced large amounts of what appears to be tar/asphalt, as the black bit are soft, and dry to a greasy muck. There is rifling for the full length of the bbl, but it does appear to be frosted and pitted.
Three shots were fired, and the second 2 produced a 3" group at 50 yards. Fire lapping might improve that, or I may have gotten lucky.
The lever is tight, and otherwise the condition is as pictured.
This is a C&R gun, and will ship accordingly.
There are 2 boxes of Winchester Super X and one box of Western 25-35 WCF available for purchase with this rifle, all dating from the late 1930's as far as I can tell.
Buyer pays actual insured shipping.
Credit cards can be taken for a 3.8% upcharge.
