This is a used Japanese military Nambu T-14 "First Variation" Large Trigger guard pistol in 8mm Nambu caliber. The barrel is 4.5" long. The condition of this gun is very good and the bore is VG+. The T-14 pistols were made from 1925-45. This was the primary pistol of Japan in WWII. The large style trigger guard "winter guard" was made from 1939-45. This gun was made in November 1939 in the Kokubunji Factory for the Nagoya Army Arsenal Tokyo. The serial number is 68395. The first variation "large guard" guns were only observed for four months with all the original features (14.9-14.12). There were around 6,000 made and this is one of them. Of the 6,000 made there are only a few hundred known. These "Transition" guns are considered rare and are very desirable. After 14.12 they had a distinct new feature. An "S" shaped band spring was added to the front grip strap to hold a loaded magazine in with more tension then before. Prior to this change the loaded magazines frequently would drop out if the button release was touched. The serial numbers match on the parts except the magazine (see pictures). The grips are not numbered. This item will be carefully packaged and insured for the selling price. This firearm is considered a “Curio & Relic” by the BATF and can ship two ways.
