Outstanding correct US Saginaw S’G’ M1 carbine. No import marks. A beautiful Saginaw S’G’ M1 Carbine made in the fall of 1943. This one is in excellent condition with following correct parts:

8-43 Buffalo Arms marked barrel with ME of 2.5 with nice shiny bore. Buffalo was one of the suppliers of barrels to Saginaw during this time.

S’G’ and ordnance marked high wood stock with RSG in oiler well. P proof on grip. The stock does not appear to have been sanded and has a nice mellow linseed oil finish. The two hole upper handguard is properly marked RSG.

S rear flip sight with B-S’G’ marked on right side. No stake marks.

N marked front sight.

Type I unmarked barrel band with 3 scars. Notice the stock and barrel show NO indication of another type of barrel band or bayonet lug.

PM-IP marked butt plate indicating Irwin Pederson production proper for Saginaw S'G' carbines

W S’G’ recoil plate

S’G’ hammer, RSG marked trigger housing, S’G’ mag release and unmarked safety all proper for this rifle

IP marked flat bolt

Type II SG marked slide

The finish on the rifle shows very light wear. The markings are clear on the barrel still having the concentric circles typical of some of Buffalo Arms barrels. Saginaw S’G’ was the second facility operated by Saginaw Gear after taking over Irwin Pederson’s production troubled facility. Using left over parts from Irwin Pederson that passed inspection, Saginaw implemented these parts into their own carbines. Making just over 290k carbines or roughly less than 4% of total US M1 Carbine production. This is a nice one, worthy of any good WW2 collection and offered with no reserve!

Buyer is responsible for mailing/e-mailing FFL or C&R (if eligible) prior to shipment along with any required local paperwork (CA: COE for C&R, FOID for IL C&R etc.). Antiques (pre 1898) only require proof of age (driver’s license) unless FFL required by local/state law. FFL may be e-mailed or mailed, sorry no faxes. Antique purchases require proof of age only unless local law requires transfer through an FFL. If you bid and win you are obligated to make contact within five days and payment within 10 days as outlined by Gunbroker. Personal checks may take a few extra days to clear before shipping. Non paying bidders receive appropriate feedback. I visually inspect each item, yet all firearms should be checked by a competent gunsmith prior to firing. I try to describe the major features and flaws in each item, but please review the pictures as well. Three day non-firing inspection with refund minus shipping. Your bid acknowledges and removes all liability from the seller in the operation or use of the firearm. Please know your local laws prior to bidding and void where prohibited. If GB goes down or is limited in taking bids within 24 hours of close of auction I reserve the right to re-list item. Registered with CA DOJ for firearm transfer, but please check if approved by state of CA prior to bidding (C&R items are exempt from this restriction). Some states like NY, NJ, and CA C&R handguns must be shipped directly 01 dealer as per state laws. Sales only in USA. I ship using FEDEX and USPS. Sorry, no layaway available. I do not end my auctions early. Internet sales only, so no local pickup.
