This is an early Nazi Police luger, S/42 coded, manufactured by Mauser. It is completely matching including one magazine. Overall condition of this Luger is near excellent. Original bluing rates 96% with only metal high point holster wear. Barrel is in excellent shape. Walnut grips are in very good plus condition with only the right grip exhibiting several light pressure marks. Original police holster rates very good and shows the same 1939 date. The original "takedown" tool is police acceptance marked as well. This set is accompanied with a non-matching but time period correct spare magazine. This early police luger has the factory modified "sear safety" that was required by the police. In addition, the earlier "stick" eagle military proof mark is found on this luger. This proof mark changed to the more noted eagle/swastika in mid 1939. What makes this Luger VERY RARE is that only 600 were produced with the characteristics listed above. They only appear in the "M" and "N" blocks. Also to note: At approximately the same time period that the proof mark changed, the police sear safety modification went away and does not re-appear until 1941. Winning bidder pays actual shipping cost. Firing this weapon during the inspection period voids your return privilege. I will only accept a return if weapon is found to be other than stated or shown. Do Not Waste Your Time Asking Me What The Reserve Is! I will not respond. All other questions will be answered. This Police Luger is among the rarest lugers out there. This complete set in its very high condition is very desirable to collectors. Do not let this opportunity slip by. Thank you for your interest.
