WW2 US Springfield M1 Garand 30-06 British Lend Lease rifle. Serial number in the 468 thousand range with original 12-41 barrel. Likely made in Jan-Feb of 1942. ME of 1 and TE of 2 with nice shiny bore. This is a mostly correct rifle. It has the proper early stock that is void of any cartouches but has the two digit Springfield code in the barrel channel (short channel stock). The finish on stock and proper milled handguard is old and mellow. A few places where filler was used on left side of stock and hand guard. The handguard roll pins are still staked in place lending to the originality. Proper trigger group with D28 -5SA trigger assembly/C46-6Sa safety and C46 -2SA hammer. Uncut D28 -3SA Op Rod. D28 -2SA bolt with RE4D heat lot. British export proofs on barrel along with dull crown stamp on bolt and on receiver. 8 marked follower assembly, forged bullet guide, short fork riveted follower and other small internal parts are all correct. The rear sight is a Type I lock bar used months after this one would have come off the line (flush nut would have been standard at this time), yet the patina and color match the rifle and I suspect it came back to the US like this. Proper narrow base gas cylinder with single slot lock. There is no sight seal on the front sight as you would normally see on this vintage M1. Instead the nut has been staked in place to prevent the sight from coming off…which could have been done by the British or the civilian owner once it surplused. The finish on the receiver and barrel is outstanding showing that dark green Parkerizing utilized during this period. Overall a handsome 1941/42 production US Springfield Armory M1 Garand that spent some time in England with the home guard before coming back as surplus in the US. Offered with no reserve!

Non paying bidders receive appropriate feedback. I visually inspect each item, yet all firearms should be checked by a competent gunsmith prior to firing.
