Very good condition antique Imperial German Model 1871 Mauser rifle in 11mm Mauser caliber that has Amberg Arsenal markings on the barrel and dated 1878 and 1882 on the receiver. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the lower buttplate screw. Buttplate and stock channel each have a cancelled nonmatching serial number. Metal finish is original bright with a little gray and brown. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Right side buttstock and underside of buttstock have nice clear Imperial German proof mark cartouches. Rifle is unit marked “B.4.R.5.151.” on top of the buttplate for the 4th Bavarian Infantry Regiment, Company 5, Weapon 151. Rifle is complete with an exact reproduction cleaning rod. A nice Bavarian M/71 Mauser rifle that will make an excellent addition to a collection.
