DA-009-J- (11256)-JEB- European horse pistol, converted from flintlock to percussion, probably French Napoleonic period. 8 ¾” tapered barrel with reinforced breech tang rear sight and blade front sight, in .69 cal. Musket bore. Note the double front barrel band and it’s retaining pin/spring. Overall length 15 ½”. Crisp lock action, good military nipple, all steel mountings. Grip has a crack in it, repairable. No distinct markings as surfaces are worn. These were usually carried in holstered pair on the saddle pommel. Lack of ramrod indicates that the rod was carried as an accessory attached to the shoulder baldric by a thong. All original, complete, as-is, SAFETY NOTICE: We do not sell firearms, only collectible antiques, if you shoot them it is at your own risk and we are not liable for anything you do.
