DA-011-B-(11384)-E- BURNSIDE CARBINE, 2nd model, CHAMBER-BREECH BLOCK. Very few made, this carbine had no forend, quite different from all others. It has been damaged but can be restored, only 2,000 made (most of which went to regiments at 1st Bull Run in 1861). Retains chamber liner and both screws and the battery ignition block retaining unit, all in situ. Has been broken in two at the bridge-pivot hole, and the top overhang lip was broken away. Some creative welding puts it back into order. So rare. It’s worth all the work if you have one of these rare guns that need it. DOESN’T FIT ANY OTHER MODEL. All original, as-is.
