DA-003-M-(10570)-JA-Excavated dagger, found in ruins of stone castle/station along the Roman wall that spans England’s highlands. This Roman wall separated the south from the north the Picts held the northern highlands. The heavily rusted stiletto-like iron blade is 8” long, and the cast bronze handle of 4 inches is fixed to the tang of the blade. Between them is a bronze handguard with a drilled hole in one end. Overall length 12 ¼ “. The design is obviously Roman whom carried daggers like this as a personal weapon. Found in 1943 by an American soldier stationed in England for the invasion of Hitler’s “Fortress Europe.” All original, sound, complete, as-is.
