DA-004-Y-(10732)-JA-TIBETTAN CEREMONIAL DRUM, made from blocks of native wood, and Yak-rawhide heads, beautifully pained. It is marked with a government seal-stamp for some reason, probably a customs-paid mark which allowed it to leave the country. The Chinese invaded Tibet and drove out its state religion, took it over, and has been selling off its cultural treasures ever since. Retains iron suspension ring; a hole has been punched in one of the leather heads, repairable. 10” diameter, 4” wide. Rare antique. All original, as-is,
