DA-019-I- (11686)-EF- Fancy high-grade Masonic lodge sword, with fully engraved blade, fittings, and ivory-handled surfaces. These were highly prized, and worth a fortune during the 19th century. Much of engraving is inlaid with gold wash, and chromed. This specimen is also engraved with the owner’s name (ALBERT F. BUCK), with sculpted metal fittings on scabbard and handle. Magnificent quality. Maker’s marked, “HORSTMAN/PHILADELPHIA.” There are a few rust spots here and there on scabbard. Perfect 30 1/2 “ straight blade, fine ivory grip has a stain on one side. Overall length, sheathed, is 39”. IN HOC SIGNO VINCES printed on the cross guard shield. Not sure which order is signified here, but masons will readily identify it for you. Over 125 years old or more. All original, complete. As-is.
