Winchester Model 1894, Legendary Frontiersman commemorative, .38-55 Winchester. Very lightly used, this gorgeous “Fancy Shooter" is simply too sweet to leave in the safe if you love lever guns like most people do!! Wood and metal both in excellent shape -- hard to find the very few very minor handling marks. Checkering is fresh and silver “coin finish” receiver is in great shape displaying engraved “Frontier Trapper” scenes. Lyman receiver sight is included. Accurate and fun to shoot – .38-55 is a great round for deer and black bear. This round has low recoil but still packs a punch. The .38-55 Winchester cartridge (actually .3775 caliber) was introduced in 1876 by Ballard. It was offered for many years by Marlin Firearms from as early as 1876 for various single-shot target rifles and their 1893 lever action rifle. It was later offered by Winchester in its Model 1894. Winchester continued to use the round in various rifles until about 1940, and also used it in a few commemorative editions of rifles since then (the rifle in this auction is one such rifle). In addition, Marlin offered it in some 336s and it was used in non-lever action rifles such as the Remington-Lee bolt-action and Colt's New Lightning pump-action rifles. In addition to hunting black bear and deer at moderate ranges, the .38-55also used in cowboy action shooting side matches.

Layaway 25% down and 15% per month until paid in full. If Buyer remains in good standing at all times during the layaway period, Seller will refund half of all payments made at any time if Buyer changes mind. Or suggest layaway terms to better suit your needs.

Special Note: All reasonable offers will be considered. Feel free to suggest a sales price via the Gunbroker email system. If we agree on a price, DO NOT BID until I change the auction to have a BUY NOW amount equal to the agreed amount. Shipping is additional to the agree BUY NOW amount. Important: (1) All sales must be completed through Gunbroker. (2) Gunbroker richly deserves its fee for the very fine service they provide us all. (3) Do not ask to finish the transaction outside of Gunbroker. If you want to negotiate a Sale Price, do not bid on the item. Rather, contact me using the Gunbroker message (email) system. After we agree to a price, we will coordinate a BUY NOW at the agreed price. (Shipping/insurance cost will be additional to the Sale Price.)
