Stencil for military ammo can / Storage Box Container

Custom 45-70 stencil, cut on premium oil board for repeated use. ½“ characters.

Free shipping.

If you use ammo cans, storage bins, etc. to store stuff, stencils are a great way to label what is in them. I use a lot of ammo cans for storage, ammo, parts, tools, nails, nuts, bolts, screws, powder, primers, bullets, reloading supplies and equipment, whatever will go in one, and have always disliked using a magic marker, or masking tape on them. The writing on tape will fade, and the glue is hard to remove. I like to mark the front of the can/container so it will be visible when on shelves, in a locker, or stacked.

With a stencil, when you empty a container just paint over, or use a little acetone to remove the paint, then stencil what is going back in it. I usually use a paint pen, or Krylon spray paint to mark mine. Most people use masking tape to hold the stencil in place. My wife bought a roll of magnetic strip at a craft store, so I borrowed some. The magnet strips hold the stencil in place and flat.

I have ¼”, ½" , ¾”, 1" and 1 ¾” old style stencil machines. The period or space does not count. Stencils will be cut individually.

Most ½” will work on the front of a .30 caliber can, if it is a long one it will take two lines, or abbreviate it. Works great on .50, SAW, and other cans or containers. Also works well on the 50 & 100 round plastic ammo boxes, tool box drawers, file cabinets, shelves, or whatever you need to label.

Following is a guide of how many characters per foot my machines cut:

¼“ is 43 characters per foot.

½” is 23 characters per foot.

¾” is 16 characters per foot.

1“ is 14 characters per foot.

This will help determine the size you need:

The end of a .30 cal can will use up to: 7 - ½” characters/spaces OR 4 - ¾” characters/spaces.

The end of a .50 cal can will use up to: 12 - ½” characters/spaces OR 7 - ¾” characters/spaces.

The end of a S.A.W. can will use up to: 14 - ½” characters/spaces OR 8 - ¾” characters/spaces.
