DA-0012-A-(9078)-JJA-Percussion half stocked Pennsyltucky Long Rifle, ca. 1860-80. A common choice of pioneers for the journey west to the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and beyond. Unsigned, rugged, sound, good workmanship. 40 ½” octagon barrel in .41 caliber, bore smooth, may have some rifling left to see if cleaned well. Standard open rear sight, white brass front sight blade, steel under rib. Brass ramrod ferrules, brass butt plate & trigger guard with brass side washer. Original tiger striped hazel ramrod and fully functional double set triggers. Good original nipple, sound walnut stock with pewter nose cap. Overall length, 57”. Very nice aged patina, brass toe plate. A fine American frontiersman’s survival system. It retains that long, slender look, with sweeping butt stock so customary and necessary for rugged service on the open wilderness plains. Don’t do anything to it beyond an occasional wipe of the surface with a hint of oil on it. Handsome, proud, like those who made and used it. All original, complete, as-is. (Long Length fee applies). SAFETY NOTICE: We do not sell firearms, only collectible antiques, if you shoot them it is at your own risk and we are not liable for anything you do.
