The rifle is a 1930 Mauser, made by FN DeGuerre - Herstal Belgigue. Originally, appx. 40 or 50 of theses special rifles were produced by FN and shipped in 1937/38 - the balance of appx. 300 were shipped to Venezuela Military in 1939/40. The rifles were special made by FN and not modified by the Venezuela military, for training purposes, although some of the rifles were produced for competition shooting as well. Originally, Venezuela was to compete in the 1942 Buenos Aires Pan Am Games but the competition was cancelled due to the war. However, they may have been used later for competition shooting. These rifles were made in a far higher grade than for field military operations; the blueing is deep and rich high grade black, the stock is a tight grain wood (which I cannot identify)with a high gloss finish - both are 95% condition. The receiver is 'black' which is consistent with mauser rifles, the serial # on the stock is consistent with the bolt #. The 'ring' has the beautiful Venezuelan Coat of Armes roll stamped, and is a perfect impression. The sights have been changed for competitive shooting; the back sight is a high level Lyman peep sight and the ramp or elevated sight has been removed with a glass material cover made to cover the opening. The front sight is special for target and may or may not be by Lyman as well. The trigger is outstanding, the finest hair trigger I have ever pulled. The action is solid or firm as this rifle does not appear to have been used much at all. I will ship ground or 3 day anywhere in the US which includes Hawaii, for $50.00 although special rates will be quoted for Hawaii and 3 day shipping. Buyer will be an FFL or have an FFL, and will send along with his payment a ink signed and current copy of his FFL certificate with address consistent with the shipping address, along with a current and UTD copy of his drivers license with current address. Payment is by US Postal Money Order or bank Cashiers Check only. THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING COLLECTIBLE RIFLE AND WILL BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION. IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR NEED ADDITIONAL PHOTOS, CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID...GOOD LUCK!
