Offered is a very nice early 1st serial block Inland M1A1 Paratrooper carbine. No import marks. An all correct early carbine showing some wear and use, yet all correct with parts showing similar use and wear patterns. Details as follows:

Proper early production high wood stock with IO on inside and ½” circle P proof on back. Notice the age crack by the p proof – yet the stock is solid and there is no give.

Proper early folding paratrooper stock with casting number on reverse of butt plate and brass rivets on cheek piece. Fatboy grip with IO and ordnance wheel on bottom.

1-43 dated Inland barrel with P proof. No evidence of this one having a bayonet lug. ME is 2 with nice shiny bore.

S marked rear flip sight with no stake marks. N marked front sight.

UI marked Type I barrel band with three weld scars.

Unmarked early checkered safety

Blue flat IO marked bolt

W-I marked early serrated magazine release

Inland trigger group with dog leg IO marked hammer. Notice the early trigger housing pin as well.

The finish is original on the metal with nice clear markings. The barrel shows some patina and even wear matching the rest of the piece. The correct two hole handguard is marked IO on the inside and is a lighter shade than the rest of the stock indicating it may have been a replacement at one time… not unusual for a carbine that was likely utilized in operations during WW2 and after. M1A1 paratrooper carbines were made in two batches of 70k units each and almost all went to US Army Airborne Units for Operations Husky, Overlord, Market Garden and Varsity. They were used right up through Vietnam and were favorites with ARVN advisors (Gen. NH Schwarzkopf carried one!) and helicopter pilots for their small compact size and firepower. This is a salty early production carbine from the first block having those desired features like high wood stock, checkered push button safety, Type I barrel band and flat blue bolt. Offered with no reserve!

Buyer is responsible for mailing/e-mailing FFL or C&R (if eligible) prior to shipment along with any required local paperwork (CA: COE for C&R, FOID for IL C&R etc.). Antiques (pre 1898) only require proof of age (driver’s license) unless FFL required by local/state law. FFL may be e-mailed or mailed, sorry no faxes. Antique purchases require proof of age only unless local law requires transfer through an FFL. If you bid and win you are obligated to make contact within five days and payment within 10 days as outlined by Gunbroker. Personal checks may take a few extra days to clear before shipping. Non paying bidders receive appropriate feedback. I visually inspect each item, yet all firearms should be checked by a competent gunsmith prior to firing. I try to describe the major features and flaws in each item, but please review the pictures as well. Three day non-firing inspection with refund minus shipping. Your bid acknowledges and removes all liability from the seller in the operation or use of the firearm. Please know your local laws prior to bidding and void where prohibited. If GB goes down or is limited in taking bids within 24 hours of close of auction I reserve the right to re-list item. Registered with CA DOJ for firearm transfer, but please check if approved by state of CA prior to bidding (C&R items are exempt from this restriction). Some states like NY, NJ, and CA C&R handguns must be shipped directly 01 dealer as per state laws. Sales only in USA. I ship using FEDEX and USPS. Sorry, no layaway available. I do not end my auctions early. Internet sales only, so no local pickup. However I can arrange for transfer through other local retail FFL’s in the twin cities area if needed (transfer fees may apply). If you are a new user without feedback (NR), please contact me prior to bidding.

Transfer FFL information: I will need a copy of your dealer's FFL license (or Curio & Relic license if the item is eligible). E-mail copy or mailed hardcopy only, sorry no faxes. It's your responsibility to have your dealer contact me with this information, as I cannot contact every buyer and their corresponding dealer for every sale.
