Very good condition antique Austrian Model 1873 Werndl Extra Corps Rifle in 11 x 36R caliber. Mechanically tight and excellent. Triggerguard is the carbine type with a hole for a sling swivel, otherwise all correct configuration. Lock is dated 1876, top of barrel is dated 1877. Receiver has the Steyr “OEWG” marking. Gun has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is mixed brown and gray. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling. Stock has been sanded and refinished. Wrist has a hairline above the lock. Rifle is unit marked “E.R./1054” on top of the buttplate for a Railroad and Telegraph Regiment. Comes with a replaced cleaning rod. A hard to find Werndl Extra Corps Rifle that will make a fine addition to your collection.
