This French Tulle is a reproduction of a 20 ga smooth bore used during the F&I wars. It has a 44" swamped barrel , Curly maple stock, all brass hardware, single trigger , and a Chambers Tulle lock. The over all weight will be approximately 7.5- 8.0 lbs. The piece is currently under construction and will be completed soon. When completed the stock will have a medium dark stain, sealed and 7 coats of hand rubbed finish. The lock and barrel will be plumb brown. From recent research this fowler would have been classed as a trade gun. But having brass furniture it would more than likely be used by wealthy officers , gentlemen or given to higher ranking Indian leaders. Test firing reveled the fowler accurately fires a tightly patched .600-.610 ball on top of 65 grains of 2f black powder. Shot pattern with #4 buck shot or #2 shot was 80% at 30 yds. Turkeys beware.!!
