What Happened to France, Gordon Waterfield: A View-point of the defeat of France, 1940

The author was one of Reuter's War Correspondents at the time of the invasion of France. He was near Sedan with the French Army when the Germans first broke through near Soissons when the second offensive was launched. He describes the gallant fight which many French troops put up and explains the final disaster. Having been a member of the Reuter staff in Paris for four and a half years the author has a specialized knowledge of political conditions and how they led to the catastrophe.
