THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC REPRODUCTION OF A CAP LOCK LONG RIFLE AS IN USE CIRCA 1850...THE 42" OCTAGON BARREL IS 13/16" ACROSS THE FLATS AND IS BORED .40, WITH FINE CUT RIFLING...SMALL PERCUSSION LOCK AND DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS...FULL LENGTH, BRASS TRIMMED TIGER STRIPPED MAPLE STOCK. 14 1/2" LENGTH OF PULL FROM FRONT TRIGGER TO CENTER OF BUTT PLATE....WEIGHS JUST 7 3/4 POUNDS...TOP BARREL FLAT IS STAMPED JP MCCOY. RESEARCH REVEALS THAT JP MCCOY WAS A TRADE NAME USED BY JIM SEARLES, A HIGHLY REGARDED GUNSMITH, WHO WAS ACTIVE IN LAS VEGAS, NV, DURING THE 1990'S...SEARLES IS KNOWN FOR HIS AUTHENTIC ARCHITECTURE AND FINE WORKMANSHIP. THIS RIFLE IS A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF HIS FINE WORK...OVERALL, LIKE NEW CONDITION WITH NO EVIDENCE OF FIRING...SOME GUIDELINES: Reserve amounts are revealed only when bid and not upon request. All cartridge firing firearms, including those made prior to 1898, must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your state. Buyer to supply a signed copy of local dealer’s license before shipment will be made. A C&R License is acceptable for C&R firearms, (guns determined to be C&R’s by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old). Antique muzzle loaders and replicas require buyer to provide proof of age. PAYMENT OPTIONS: Payment must be received within 10 days of auction close or the item will be relisted.
