Up for sale is a genuine USGI M1 Garand rifle stock made by Springfield Armory (SA) during or after WWII. This stock has an "open box" SA rebuild stamp. Although this is not quite the correct stock for an M1D sniper rifle (which should have an open box SA stamp and an adjacent "RA" stamp), some people restoring an M1D end up accepting an open-box SA stock since the correct M1D stock can be hard to find. This stock does not have its original cartouche and it has no RA stamp I can find, so I think it is incorrect for an M1D. Could use having dents steamed out. Has open box SA over R. Open box SA is faint, but stock probably doesn't need to be refinished.

Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail insured. If you'd like it shipped via some other method to save money, please ask me before bidding. If shipping ends up being more than a dollar less than the above price, I will refund any whole-dollar difference. The base shipping price is so high because it recently cost me $25 to ship a similarly sized package (fully insured) within the lower 48 states. I prefer not to spend the time to package and figure out exact shipping on each of my items until I see if they sell. I can figure out shipping once it sells. I'd prefer you mail me the total below, though, and let me refund any difference.

I will allow a no-questions-asked return within 3 days of receipt. However, unless I have grossly misrepresented something, the buyer will have to pay shipping both ways and my auction fees. If something is totally obvious in the photos, I'm not going to consider it a major omission.

If payment is made via USPS money order, I will do my best to ship within a day or two. If payment is made via any other method, I will have to wait for payment to clear. Personal checks will take the longest to clear, especially if the buyer doesn't have a lot of positive feedback. In such a case, I will wait two weeks before shipping (I once had a check from a buyer bounce and it took 9 calendar days after deposit before my bank notified me it bounced). I will only accept a personal check if the address printed on the check is the address I'm shipping to and matches your registered address on GunBroker.

I will accept PayPal only if the buyer adds 3% to cover PayPal fees, and I will only ship to the buyer's confirmed address so I get full seller protection. If you send a PayPal payment and do not add 3% to the total (including shipping) or put in an unconfirmed address, I will reject the payment.

Potential trades I'm currently looking for (for any of the stuff I'm selling, but you must ask BEFORE bidding) are specific parts for a late 1940 Springfield Garand (S/N around 80,000) or specific parts for a Winchester WIN-13 from 4/1945.

Thanks for looking!
