This Very Nice Smith & Wesson Model 18-2 (aka, K-22 Combat Masterpiece) Revolver Needs a New Home!

I am offering for sale a very nice example of the collectible S&W Model 18-2 chambered in .22 LR. The Model 18 is a Model 17 fitted with a slightly tapered 4-inch barrel, and S&W identifies the Model 18 as the “K-22 Combat Masterpiece.” The 18-2 variant was built between 1961 and 1967, and this K-22 was produced in 1967, making it C&R eligible. There is minor bluing loss on some high edges, the ejector rod, and at the muzzle. The finish appears to be at least 97%, but please inspect the photos and make your own determination. There is no evidence of prior rust, pitting, or poor storage, there are no dings, and there are no scratches or defects worth mentioning (see photos). The bore is mirror bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder interiors are shiny and smooth. The lockup is solid, the action is in-time, and the gun is a pleasure to own. The walnut magna ‘diamond’ grips are in great condition, although apparently numbered to an older K-22. The photographs supplied with this auction listing are an essential part of the gun’s description. I will answer questions promptly and/or supply additional photos of any part or angle of interest, but please ask only if you are serious about the revolver.

Please read and understand all of the conditions listed below prior to bidding, and ask questions if something is not clear. This revolver is 50 years old, so it is eligible for transfer using a C&R license (03 FFL), and I will gladly accept your C&R for the transfer. If you are transferring through a FFL holder, then please verify with them, preferably before you bid, that they will accept a firearm transfer from an individual (me). I will supply copies of my C&R license and my NC driver’s license with the revolver. I will ship the firearm as soon as payment is received and validated, AND I have been supplied with a legible PDF or paper copy of the your C&R or the receiving FFL's license. If you prefer to have the transfer come from my local (01/02) FFL holder, then please add $40 to the total purchase price to cover that extra service. The shipping price includes insurance for the amount of your winning bid. I am confident that you will be satisfied with this firearm, but I will accept a return and refund the purchase price if (1) I have substantially mischaracterized the firearm, (2) you have not fired or disassembled it beyond a basic field inspection (no screw removal), AND (3) you have contacted me within three (3) days of delivery to the shipping destination. However, I will not accept return of the firearm because you did not perform the necessary inquiries prior to bidding and purchase. You will pay for any return shipping, insurance, and any necessary transfer fees. By bidding, you are indicating that it is legal for you to purchase this firearm, and that your purchase complies with all pertinent local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Sorry, but I choose not to make any sales to CA or other firearm-unfriendly states or jurisdictions. I will not bear any liability for your purchase, ownership, or use of this firearm, and I recommend that you have a qualified gunsmith inspect the gun prior to use. That said, I have shot this 18-2 several times and everything functions exactly as it should. If you have not made a purchase on previously, I am happy to answer questions and help you navigate the process.

Thanks again for looking at this very nice, desirable and collectible, S&W Model 18-2 (K-22 Combat Masterpiece) revolver - you will NOT be disappointed! While you are here, please check out my other auctions!!
