IF YOU LOAD FOR A BOLT-ACTION RIFLE, AND USE BOAT TAIL BULLETS, THIS IS THE BRASS YOU WANT! NOTE: If you want to buy more than one bag, that’s great! Email me and I’ll make it happen.

This auction is for a bag of 250 cases of fully processed .308 Winchester bolt-action reloading brass (308BARBx250 NF), made from once-fired 7.62 x 51 NATO rounds. It is some of the best reloading brass available anywhere.

These 308BARBx250 NF cases work real well when you’re seating boat tail bullets.

We also have 308BARBx250 F for bolt-action rifles, with FLARED CASE MOUTHS for loading FLAT BASE BULLETS; please check our other auctions.

This bag of brass is all LC 13 (Lake City 2013). It’s not a hodge-podge of mixed headstamps, fired who knows how many times, picked up from who knows where. We only buy from military bases, so it’s guaranteed to be once fired. This is the stuff our military trains with: government-spec top quality ammo. Reloaded, this stuff shoots more accurately than any new brass we’ve tried. We sort all of our processed brass by manufacturer/year for maximum consistency, which is the key to accuracy. And it lasts through at least 10 reloadings (with full-length sizing each time), so it’s a great value too.

This brass is truly FULLY PROCESSED. Here’s what we do:

  • tumble clean in Mr DeBurr300s, which are vibratory ‘finishing’ tanks, then hand sort by manufacturer and year.
  • de-prime and full-length size, with the neck expanded to .307" inside diameter to give .001" tension on the bullet. We use a UniqueTek “Case Mouth & Neck Tension Gauge” to check the necks.
  • swage the primer pocket so it will accept a new primer; we also use a UniqueTek “SWAGE GAUGE Primer Pocket Gauge” to assure the primer pockets are the right size from the factory.
  • trim the case to a uniform overall length; 2.005” +/- .003 (95% are within .002")
  • tumble them again in stainless steel pins to clean out the primer pocket and the flash hole, as well as the inside of the case.
  • weigh and package in bags of 100 and 250

The neck tension on our 308BARB brass is .001”, meaning the inside diameter of the cases at the neck is .307”, which is .001” smaller than the .308” bullet. So our brass has the right ‘squeeze’ for bolt-action guns.

We weigh the brass instead of counting it; 6.400 pounds is the conversion number we use for 250 cases, which should yield 252 or 253 cases. (Unless its SBS cases; then we use 6.650 pounds for 250 cases; they’re that much heavier.) If you’re short even one case, call me and I’ll send you more than enough to make up the difference.

WE ALSO HAVE LOTS OF POWDER AND PRIMERS AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL PICK-UP. (I’m not a DOT Hazmat certified shipper…yet.) Plus, we have used stainless steel pins, 50 pound bags of walnut shell, we’re a dealer for Diamond Pacific (http://www.diamondpacific.net/commercial_tumblers.html) who have a bunch of great tumblers including the 65T, which is capable of handling 2,500 .223 cases, we’re a dealer for Aero Precision, Davidson’s/Gun Genie, and we build custom ARs. So what else do you need besides brass?

Payment must be made in full within 7 days of end of auction. Payment by Money Order, Cashier’s Check, or personal check; all personal checks must clear before shipment (my bank tells me 2 weeks for personal checks to clear, but it usually only takes a couple of days). Paying with a credit card is fine, but I have to charge an extra 3%.

Shipping to the United States of America only!

I combine shipping. Shipping costs: USPS Priority is $14 up to 500 rounds; $19 up to 1,000 rounds. Local pick-up is OK; encouraged in fact!

Returns accepted ONLY if the item doesn’t match the description. I will pay the return shipping if that’s the case.

Please email questions BEFORE you bid.

Thanks for looking, and happy reloading!

The photos below show you what our brass looks like, but may be a different year/manufacturer. The brass you get will be the brass listed in this auction, which is not necessarily the same manufacturer/year as shown in the photos.
