Hello, up for auction is this used Colt Python .357 Magnum caliber revolver. This is a 6-shot, double/single action revolver with adjustable sights and 6" barrel. Serial Number 66xxx, indication 1967 production, S/N also stamped on crane. Overall, gun in V.G. condition, it has been used, has some holster wear, so it was carried some. Bore exc, mechanically gun is tight, cylinder in time both double & single action modes, even when hammer is cocked very slowly cylinder locks in before full-cock is engaged. Finish I'd rate as good, no indication of refinish, no buffing marks and markings are sharp, see photos. There is some holster wear on cylinder and barrel, some on barrel underside, and some scratches and scuffs in places, see photos. Small rust spot at barrel/frame junction. Bought this used from a dealer back in 2007, he stated the front sight had been replaced with a wider blade and the previous owner had a scope mount on the piece. I have taken some photos of the front sight, and there are some tell-tale signs of where the scope mount fitted on the vent rib in couple of places, see photos. I have never fired this gun much, maybe 75 rounds through the years. most of the time with .38 Special loads. Gun always functioned/shot fine. I just did not like the feel of the factory grips on the Python, was always thinking about installing a different type of grip, never did. The factory grips are decent, some wear in the varnish, some dings. They fit a tiny bit loose on the frame, not much play at all but a small amount, always did as long as I've had the piece, grips may have shrunk at bit through the decades. In summary, this is not a mint NIB Python, but a very nice shooter that has been used, but still retains the factory finish and overall still looks very nice. FFL required to ship, Colt sent from local dealer to your FFL via USPS Insured; shipping fee $40. No California bids, and no C&R FFL, since USPS does not recognize C&R. I accept cashier checks, money orders, and personal checks (10-day delay with personal checks for clearance). NO Paypal or credit cards accepted. Please look at photos carefully and feel free to ask questions. Buy-it-now price does include shipping. Thanks for looking.
