LIMITED RUN OF “BEST OF CLASS” AVAILABLE ONLY THRU ROCKEGROUP, LLC! Full blown customs have an extensive history which follows but to sum these are full blown Turnbull Restoration 1911 retro builds stamped “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and “US ARMY” with 20,000 year old Ivory grips, modern upgraded XS big dot sights, El Paso Saddlery custom leather, Turnbull Restoration cases, six (6) Wilson Combat magazines and tons more! Built for the shooting aficionado these portray the thousands of 1911 pistols brought home and “customized” for daily carry by law enforcement officers and civilians alike. Colt, Remington-UMC, and Springfield Armory built 1911 pistols during the Great War for the United States; over 100 years later Remington decided to capitalize on these little known bona fides and contracted with Turnbull Restoration to build 999 historically correct 1911 reproductions with appropriate roll marks and finishes. Out of these pistols Rockegroup, LLC received a limited number of “Best of Class” units hand polished with classic charcoal blue finish. Period correct roll marks include “MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY CALIBER .45” starboard with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and full Remington Rand bona fides port side, Eagle’s Head stamp. Limited “Best of Class” units each have hand fitted Woolly Mammoth Ivory grips; Schreger Lines document these Ivory grips to be in excess of 20,000 years old with an origin in Siberia. Rough hewn Ivory is custom hand fitted to each individual pistol, cut with classic 1911 contours to include beveled bottom with cut outs for grip pins and mag release screw. Hand lapping and polish to extremes. Each pistol grip set comes with it’s own bottle of Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax/Polish (65ml) imported from England; as used and stocked by the British Museum. Pistol bushings each have a Challis O ring, and each grip screw has a Challis O ring. As installed grips are rated for daily carry and normal shooting and will not crack or split. Possible with extreme use (dropping on concrete) they will chip or crack but have never witnessed nor seen this. Grips are smooth; texture may appear to the sight but are contoured properly with smooth surface. Wilson Combat magazines six (6) per pistol. One magazine will be “sterile” without any WC markings and will be a two tone; lower half is Turnbull blue to match frame of your 1911. Five other WC mags are stamped as Wilson Combat, stainless steel, 7 round, “Service Plus”. Custom slide work includes XS Big Dot tritium site system. Front slide has custom dovetail for these sights which is only available on “Best of Class” pistols. These pistols are modern day repros and will reliably use any quality 1911 magazines on the market to include 8 and 10 round magazines. XS Big Dot sighting system has a massive front “dot” with tritium for instantaneous CQB sight picture. Rear sight is the Defensive Express Tritium with trapezoidal frame cut. El Paso Saddlery Spyder Shoulder System Complete Rig features an eight point pivoting harness, black, tension screw adjustment, floral carved holster and harness and ammo carrier. System is ready to wear immediately; hand built with supple leather these are not “stiff” museum pieces they are ready to work upon receipt. Holds two magazines. Note these Turnbull units were hand built by Turnbull; take it as “granted” these Best of Class pistols are blueprinted with exceptional triggers and exceed reliability expectations. Designed to be stared at and admired or carried and shot daily. Price comparison? You can ONLY get these versions from Rockegroup, LLC but let’s try! Turnbull website has the WWI 1911 at $2625 no markings. Add Army stamping $275, another $275 for full proof marks and Remington UMC bona fides. Custom NON CATALOG front site dovetail $175, XS Big Dot sights $135, installation with zero another $90. Mammoth Woolly Ivory, Hand Fitted. You can buy some Mammoth Ivory for $300 bucks on ebay. Good Luck with that happy crappy since they are typically trash; not fitted and will split, crack, and break. Or you can get in line with a premier grip maker and wait your turn for a full year.. our grips are bona fide Siberian Woolly Mammoth with Schreger Lines to prove it. This means you are “green”- not one of those bad people with elephant ivory. Get it? Your Woolly Mammoth Ivory is 20,000 years old and the Woolly Mammoth is extinct so your grips are “art” not barbaric poached Ivory. Even your daughter will love you (again). There is a cost associated with premier hand fitted Woolly Mammoth- $700 USD typically. Includes Renaissance wax, imported England. Wilson Combat magazines x 6 = $187. El Paso Saddlery has the Spyder Shoulder System on their website for $189. Read the fine print; this is a direct quote “Fully Floral Carved (4 Harness Straps, Holster, Ammo Carrier), Add $375.00”. That pumps your shoulder holster with all to $564. Ships in the Turnbull hard case stamped “TURNBULL”. Total would crack $5000 to “build” one.. AZ pays tax visa mc discover add 3.5% Since this is a long listing anyway let’s answer Alex (again). Yes Rockegroup, LLC has the contract to provide the Longmire set with these pistols for season 7-9. Spoiler Alert! Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) in season 7 becomes the Tribal Police Chief and is provided a matching 1911 to Walt’s. Walt’s (Sheriff Longmire) Grandfather had acquired a matching set of 1911 pistols and bequeathed them to his grandson; upon Henry Standing Bear becoming the Tribal Chief of Police Walt presented Henry with the match to his pistol! So there ya go! Hey Dorothy the price is for ONE pistol with accouterments as described above..
