This book contains the most important infantry weapons used by both Allied and Axis soldiers between 1939 and 1945. These include both standard infantry bolt-action rifles such as the German Kar 98 and British Rifle No 4, Mk1, both of which were developed in the nineteenth century but were still in widespread service in 1945, plus the automatic rifles that entered service toward the end of the war, such as the Sturmgewehr 44. As well as rifles, this book features, the submachine guns, machine guns and handguns that served in the European and Pacific theaters, weapons such as the German MP40 submachine gun, the umbiquitous British Webley revolver, the famous German MG34 and MG42 machine guns and the American Thompson submachine gun. In addition to the text and photographs, the book includes specification tables for each weapon, which includes the following categories: (all weights & measures in metric and imperial), type, caliber, length, weight, magazine capacity, range, rate of fire, and muzzle velocity. 96 pgs.
